WOW what a year. Overall better than the last, I think, in terms of art output.
Q1: Pretty formulaic, really. When Feb rolled around, I realised that it was the new year elsewhere, specifically for the Year of the Dragon. Following Gleeb's creation, I had to come up with a decent Dragon of my own, and thus Solera was born. Following that it was a couple more misc designs, such as that nice sand gal and a rather classy woman, and into March which had a lot more experimentation. At this point my 2024 goal was to expand my roster as much as I can with a lot of good designs. I'd say I did fairly well with that here, even none of them from Q1 were all that iconic later on.
Q2: Pretty good quarter in its own right! April started off basically identically to how Q1 was going, with the highlight probably being Princess Eyesore and her ridiculous existence. I also made Cel, who did ended up being much more relevant down the year and I like her very much. The most notable part of May was me working on stuff for @RadJon and @JimBagg, as well as the remake of Palo, which turned out absolutely wonderfully. After that, he next month was mostly just misc things with an emphasis on doing some Art Trades with @JimBagg and the funny cactus guy.
Q3: Behold, the busiest quarter of all! It started off with me entering Art Fight for the first time. it was... quite the roller coaster, honestly. For a bit I did feel a little down, feeling like my friends were leaving me out of the fun somewhat. Once I started making a lot of artwork and seeing some amazing pieces go my way, I started feeling better about it, especially towards the end, thanks to a certain friend helping me feel better about everything.
You should definitely see the best AF result I got though, it's pretty peak:
Immediately after an extremely busy July, I thought it would've been a great idea to immediately start a drawing challenge with Arecacian August! Why did I do that? Because I was frustrated with how the idea of anthro palm trees was something I was inherently associated with, with Arecacians being pretty peak, yet every time someone else does it, they're more successful. I took that frustration and made a whole bunch of new, themed Arecacians to really show my dominance in the anthro palm tree market.
It didn't make mine any more successful, but it DID make mine the best, which is what matters at the end of the day.
Aside from Arecacian August, I also made what might be my best piece of 2024 in general, which brought back Citra and made her a mainstay with me and my friends. Septermber, in comparison, was a bit of a break. Art output was slower (understandable so), but I managed to celebrate Ruby Day in time. Twice.
Q4: My best quarter, probably! I started it off EXTREMELY strong with the return of the Anti-Mute Project. There I made so many great instances of Rossy, with Chestssy being the one that I like most personally. During that very same October I also made Eria as well as Sharel during the same month, which were very strong designs in their own right. After that it was banger after banger, even going into December, with that remake of Rossy and Zam, one of my favs of the year. December was quite busy, didn't have too much time for myself as I wanted to make a lot of gift pieces for my friends, pretty much all of which I'm very happy with.
The only shaky part was probably the NG Secret Santa event, which... I wasn't a fan of this year, honestly. (I'm happy with my own piece I did for it, it's just the event itself that I didn't like.)
Overall?
A great year! So many great new designs, that it's nigh impossible to nail down a fav from em all.
The RPG is even almost finished. Hoping to get it done sometime early next year, look forward to it.
